Something different for us, a real challenge - coupling multiple complex data sources, consolidating data into a standard format then enriching it to make it easy to use
Tyremen is one of the most recognised local brands in our region and already had a Shopify based website which was working well for them.
So the big question is, if it works, why change it? .... Put simply, the team at Tyremen knew that they could get their website to do more and work better for them. Fortunately, they also understood the benefit that a bespoke front end would provide - we'd be able to make the site work exactly as they wanted.
We were able to show to the Tyremen team that we could provide the best of both worlds, a bespoke front end - plugged into our standard business logic utilising all of the functionality and stabiity we provide through our platform.
In addition to the front end, we had several challenges relating to the automatic interfaces. We take a feed from two core systems - Tyremen's core system and their main suppliers product and stock systems. Both data sources are different in format. We wrote a process to sit in front of our standard product and stock management interfaces which parsed down the feeds to a similar format, incorporated the business rules we'd agreed on how to interpret the data and generated a structured format allowing us to represent the unstructured data as:
Coupled with the ability to use in tandem our product management process, Tyremen have been able to create and sell online winter wheel and tyre packages - where the user can pick their wheels and tyre options based on the vehicle they're driving.
Whilst the site delivers exactly what Tyremen wanted, we're still not finished - we're always in touch with them looking at how we can make it better and keep moving the site up a level each time.
